Vineyard location and characteristics

The vineyards are located on the hills of Buje, at 220 to 250 metres above the sea, at the location of Contarini. The ideal microclimate allows for the growing of grapes that in their maturing retain the amount of acidity required for a fruity and well-balanced wine, while the mineral white soil sustains the smoothness with its exceptional mineral notes.

Vinification and maturing

A part of the must is subjected to the process of crio-maceration and then lightly pressed after which it is left to ferment at temperatures from 14 to 16 °C. With the help of fine lees, the wine is left to mature in stainless steel barrels until spring when it’s bottled.

Color

Full golden yellow color

Bouquet

Aromas of pineapple and ripe pears begin an interesting line up, which continues with dried herbs, then an exotic note of mango emerges. The wine seems mature, intriguingly spiced with traces of flint towards the end

Taste

The wine is soft, round, the fruit notes slide nicely down the throat, the aromas of pears and tropical fruits clearly remain on the palate, the mango stands out, but the clear expression is supported by minerality and freshness. The flavors are long-lasting, with a juicy finale on elder.

Gastronomic recommendation

Asian cuisine is an interesting playground for this rich Viognier, it goes well with cooked vegetables, white meat, but also with fish dishes, freshwater fish. Taste it with young aromatic cheeses.
